Healthy Turkey Burger Recipe

Turkey is a lean white meat that contains over 1/3 more zinc than chicken. This healthy turkey burger recipe makes healthy burgers that toddlers love!

Ingredients

2 medium potatoes, washed, peeled, cooked and mashed

1 onion, peeled and finely chopped

1 Tb olive oil/coconut oil/red-palm oil

a pinch ground cloves

8 oz organic or kosher ground turkey

a handful chopped parsley

spices: sea salt, cumin, turmeric, paprika and black pepper – to taste

Directions

In a pan, gently cook the onion in the oil until transparent. Add the cloves and stir well. Add the turkey and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring continuously until the turkey is cooked through. Take off the heat, add the mashed potato, parsley and spices and put aside until cooled enough to handle with hands. Then form into small burger shapes and place in the fridge to set for 30 minutes. Brush with olive oil and either grill for 5 minutes each side, or bake in 400 degrees for 20 minutes. To upgrade burgers, roll them in sesame seeds before cooking.
